Moeran & the grand Irish landscape music

I recently discovered my new favorite classical composer that was dead for 58 years. His music infused my imagination with the scene where I could fly over the great landscape of Ireland with mountains, the sea and the grass plains. Or to sit quietly near by the cold big rock beside the sea.

His name was John Moeran (1894-1950). He was an English man with an Irish heritage who transformed traditional folkmusic of Ireland into the chamber as well as symphonic music of highest beauty. My favorite pieces are Symphony in G and all his quartets.
