เมื่อวานได้นัดคุยกับเจ้านายเก่าของสหายผู้หนึ่ง ได้ความว่าเรามีความสนใจตรงกันหนึ่งเรื่อง กล่่าวคือการทำให้คนรุ่นใหม่เข้ามาการประกอบการทางสังคม (social enterprise) ซึ่งก็คือการริเริ่มองค์กรที่มีเป้าหมายในการแก้ปัญหาสังคมหรือสิ่งแวดล้อมโดยมีแนวทางที่มีความใหม่ เป็นนวัตกรรม มีประสิทธิภาพวัดผลได้ และยังสามารถสร้างรายได้ให้ยั่งยืนได้ด้วยตัวเองทางใดทางหนึ่ง
ไม่จำเป็นต้องขอเงินแหล่งทุนไปเรื่อยๆ หรือมีความสัมพันธ์ที่พิเศษกับแหล่งทุนเพียงพอที่ทำให้แหล่งทุนต้องใช้บริการอย่างต่อเนื่องและมั่นคง
ตัวอย่างมากมายไม่ว่าจะเป็นองค์กรที่ทำ E-Commerce ให้ชาวบ้านโดยรายได้ส่วนใหญ่กลับไปที่ชาวบ้าน ธุรกิจการทำ podcasting ประเด็นทางสังคม ธุรกิจการเป็นที่ปรึกษาด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมในเชิงสถาปัตฯ หรือแม้แต่การทำภาพยนต์สะท้อนประเด็นทางสังคมแต่สามารถทำให้น่าสนใจ มีคนดู อันนำไปสู่การสร้างรายได้ที่มั่นคงอีกด้วย
อย่างไรก็ตามคนรุ่นใหม่ที่คิดไปในแนวทางนี้มีอยู่น้อยมากๆ จำเป็นที่ต้องเร่งจุดประกาย และหนุนเสริม กระตุ้นให้เกิดขึ้นมากๆ ไม่เช่นนั้นแม้จะสามารถสร้างตลาดทุนสำหรับการประกอบการทางสังคมได้สำเร็จก็อาจจะไม่สามารถหาองค์กรหรือธุรกิจเพื่อสังคมที่มากพอที่จะเกิดประสิทธิภาพในการลงทุนที่มีคุณภาพได้
ด้วยเหตุนี้จึงมีแนวคิดที่จะทำอะไรคล้ายๆการสร้างบรรยากาศแบบ Silicon Valley Startup Culture แต่เป็นสำหรับผู้ประกอบการทางสังคมขึ้น คือเป็นโครงสร้างและวัฒนธรรมที่ชื่นชมนวัตกรรมใหม่ ยอมที่จะเสี่ยง ล้มแล้วลุกได้ มี mentor และผู้สนใจให้ความช่วยเหลือ แต่เป็นไปด้วยการแข่งขันอย่างสร้างสรรค์ ฯลฯ

ทางออกของเรื่องนี้คือแนวคิดที่จะสร้างอะไรคล้ายๆโรงเรียนสอนธุรกิจทางเลือก (alternative business school) ขึ้นมาคล้ายๆเป็นวิทยาลัยการจัดการเพื่อการประกอบการทางสังคม ซึ่งในโลกนี้ใกล้เคียงที่สุดก็คือสิ่งที่เรียกว่า KaosPilot ทีเดนมาร์ค เป็น business school ที่เน้นให้นักศึกษาหรือผู้เข้ากระบวนการเรียนรู้เรื่องการทำธุรกิจแบบใหม่ๆโดยเฉพาะที่เป็นธุรกิจซึ่งเป็นนวัตกรรมทางสังคม และต้องให้ทดลองตั้งธุรกิจจริงๆขึ้นมาด้วยไม่ใช่แค่เรียนจากหนังสือหรือการพูดคุย เราก็อยากเห็นอะไรแบบนี้ในแบบ Asian เหมือนกัน แต่จะตั้งวิทยาลัยแบบนี้ขึ้นมาเป็นเรื่องเป็นราวก็คงไม่ง่ายนัก แต่เป็นเรื่องที่ผมอยากทำให้ได้เรื่องหนึ่ง
ก่อนที่จะเป็นขั้นนั้น ก็มีแนวคิดที่จะทำสิ่งที่เรียกว่า Thailand Bootcamp for Social Startups ซึ่งก็อาจจะเป็นอะไรคล้ายๆกับ Y-Combinator ที่ยุโรป หรือ Global Social Benefit Incubator (GSBI) ที่อเมริกา ซึ่งเป็นลักษณะของการค้นหาและคัดกรองคนรุ่นใหม่ที่มีไอเดียและกำลังเริ่มประกอบการทางสังคมที่มีความเป็นนวัตกรรมและมีโอกาสสร้างให้เกิดผลต่อสังคมสิ่งแวดล้อมได้มาก แล้วเอาคนพวกนี้มาจัดอบรมแบบเนื้อๆเน้นๆประมาณหนึ่งอาทิตย์เกี่ยวกับเรื่องแผนธุรกิจ ยุทธศาสตร์ การเงิน ฯลฯ และนำผู้เชี่ยวชาญในหลากหลายมิติเช่นเทคโนโลยีหรือการเงินมาช่วยออกความคิดเห็น แนะนำให้กับผู้ประกอบการทางสังคมรุ่นใหม่ได้คิด ได้พัฒนาแนวทางของตน หรือสร้างความร่วมมือระหว่างกันและกัน เป็นแนวๆค่ายพัฒนาศักยภาพแบบเน้นผลงานสุดๆนั้นเอง
จากนั้นจึงคัดเลือกกลุ่มที่ผ่านกระบวนการ bootcamp ซึ่งมีแผนธุรกิจหรือแนวคิดที่พร้อมจริงๆ แล้วให้ seed money กับบางกลุ่มเพื่อให้เริ่มงานได้ เบื้องต้นคิดว่า seed pool รวมๆแล้วซักประมาณ 3 ล้านบาทก็จะสามารถทำให้คนสนใจได้แล้ว อาจจะลงกับแต่ละที่ 2 แสนขึ้นไปแล้วแต่ความเหมาะสม
ซึ่งองค์กรที่ได้รับ seed capital เหล่านี้ก็จะสามารถค่อยๆกลายเป็นองค์กรประกอบการทางสังคมที่อาจจะสามารถระดมทุนได้เองจากแหล่งทุนต่างๆได้ในอนาคต ซึ่งหากแหล่งทุนเหล่านั้นเห็นว่าผ่านกระบวนการลักษณะนี้มาแล้ว และได้รับการลงทุนระดับ seed มาแล้ว ซึ่งเป็นช่วงที่เสี่ยงที่สุดในการลงทุน พวกแหล่งทุนต่างๆก็ย่อมจะอยากลงทุนมากขึ้น เพราะมีคนจัดการส่วนการลงทุนกับความเสี่ยง (risk-capital) ให้บ้างแล้ว
สรุปคือ TRN ในปีนี้น่าจะจัด Thailand Bootcamp Social Startups ที่จะมี intensive-workshop + access to seed capital เพื่อสร้างตลาดการประกอบการทางสังคม (อาจจะเน้น technology sector หน่อยตามความถนัดของเรา) แล้วค่อยๆดูว่าจะขยายเป็นวิทยาลัยได้อย่างไรในอนาคต
