APPLICATION DEADLINE: 15 Feb 09SEACEM, ChangeFusion and Freevoice are proud to accept applications for “ASEAN E-Media Startups Competition” with the goal of identifying talented e-media startups in ASEAN that innovatively bring independent news & views with financial sustainability in order to significantly enhance freedom of expression, openness and political & economic liberty in the region. The finalists will be invited to the capacity building workshop to sharpen their business plans, the output of the workshop will be rated and the winners will receive incubation supports as well as USD 10,000 equity-like loan for seed/startup fund per venture.

Who’s eligible

● Internet-based independent media startups in ASEAN focusing with mininum 6 months of existence.
● Demonstrating measurable and scalable social social impact.
● Example; News site, bloggers network, video podcasting and other innovative models using new media tools such as twitter and feeds.

หากใครอยากเห็นองค์กรนวัตกรรมแบบใหม่ๆ ที่ก้าวพ้นขั้วตรงข้ามแห่งธุรกิจและNGOไปได้นั้น มีเรื่องน่าสนใจดังนี้ครับ
เมื่อไม่นานมานี้ มีการจัดงานซึ่งนำผู้ประกอบการเพื่อสังคมรุ่นใหม่ (young social entrepreneurs) ของไทยที่ TRN Institute พยายามสนับสนุนอยูู่
(โดยเฉพาะในวงด้าน Internet-based social enterprises ตั้งแต่กลุ่มทำเว็บให้องค์กรด้านสังคม ทำ podcast ในประเด็นด้านสังคม ทำ e-commerce ให้ชาวบ้าน ฯลฯ)
พวกผู้ประกอบการรุ่นใหม่ดังกล่าวนี้ได้จัดกิจกรรม Mini-boot camp ร่วมกับนักศึกษาจากสถาบัน KaosPilot ซึ่งคล้ายๆเป็น MBA ของคนที่ต้องการจะตั้งธุรกิจใหม่ๆที่เป็นนวัตกรรมทางสังคมจากยุโรป นอกจากนั้นก็ยังมีขาแจมอีกมาก เช่น bact’ และนักทำหนังสั้นจากอังกฤษ ฯลฯ

งานที่ว่าจัดขึ้นโดย TRN Institute ที่ The World Bank Bangkok โดยความร่วมมืออย่างดีของ the world bank youth club

งานนี้ทำให้คนที่อยากสร้างนวัตกรรมเพื่อสังคมแต่ต้องอยู่ได้อย่างยั่งยืนได้โดยการสร้างรายได้นั้นได้เจอกัน ได้แลกเปลี่ยนไอเดียบรรเจิดมากมาย และได้แลกเปลี่ยนความคิดที่แตกต่างข้ามโลก (East meets West) กันเลยทีเดียว
